Overall this is one of the best RC (Radio Control) Trucks on the market. It has Superb design and implementation. Rugged, easy to use, looks great and well though out. And an excellent owners manual. This is one of the larger 1/8 scale RC Trucks, same size as the CEN Racing Genesis but with slightly smaller tires (easily replaced). Compared to the CEN Genesis 1/8 Truck, everything about the HPI Savage XL is better. Including what may be the best customer service that I have dealt with in a long time. Having a problem with any product is not unexpected, after all humans design and build this stuff and we all make mistakes. What separates HPI from the rest is how they handle a problem with their products. They have now raised the bar for Customer Service to where it should be for every company. I have a lot of hobbies and enjoy a lot of different sports and activities. In addition I do all my own home upgrades and repairs, I also can repair just about any product from cars to computers. And I will contact any company where I have a problem with their product/s. Over the years I have dealt with hundreds of companies. And of those, only a few have had what I consider to be outstanding Customer Service. Toro, Black & Decker, a few others and now HPI. I had a problem with the Savage XL RC Truck. I called HPI Customer Service and the person that I talked to was knowledgeable, friendly and considerate. HPI expedited the parts I needed and I had the RC Savage XL running again quickly. And the experience was the opposite of what I encountered from another RC Truck company whose product I also had a problem with. Based on my experience, HPI will be the only company I buy RC Cars and Trucks from in the future. It will be the only company that I will recommend for RC Cars and Trucks.
