Ready to run...just pop in the 6 cell battery in the car, eight AAs in the remote, and you are ready to go. I opened my XB Grasshopper and found something expertly built. I had one back in the 80s and the big difference is, it took me, my brother and dad to assemble it. We had lots of spare parts, the decals were'nt on straight and the unit was banged up before i got to use it in races. This one, great decals, clean wiring, sad to say there arent any races in manila for this type/class anymore. The 6-cell battery goes in the space provided but the top cover should be unscrewed first...that's how the Grasshopper is. But other than that, its all fun from there. Talk about nostalgic, it also came with a #4 crystal, like the one i always used in my first Grasshopper. The resin cover is what it was ever since. I hit a car tire in a certain way and the side foglamp came off...ripped off. Well, toys are meant to played with and its nothing cement glue couldnt fix. It handled the same as when i was a little kid. Forward at full speed and immediate reverse on the control with a little turn to any side and the vehicle almost does a 180, then an immediate throttle up to speed off the other way. This made me win some races with hairpins back in the day. My old one had a mid-end Le Mans motor while this new one only had a 380 motor on it(yup, not even a 540)but it still drives great. Its not the highest end for its year, but its really fun to play with.
