Read to Fly 4 Channel Helicopter
Helizone introduces the all new 4 Channel 2.4 Ghz based Thunderbird!
The Thunderbird not only can fly your typical 3 Channel direction Throttle Up and Down, Left and right direction, forward and backward, but can also fly Sideways! With a built in Gyro and solid frame, the Thunderbird is built upon the strength of its predecessors with added performance and features.
Benefit from 3 Channel to Thunderbird:
- 3 Channel relies its forward/backward speed based on the speed of the tail rotor. 4 Channel helicopters relies its direction and speed on the movement of the "swashplate." Because tail rotors are generally limited in power, 4 Channel helicopters are able to fly much faster!
- 3 Channel are limited in range due to most being "infrared" based. Range is typically 20-30 feet and can only fly indoors. The Thunderbird is able to fly inside, and outside without any interference, with range up to 100+ feet.
2.4 Ghz benefits:
The 2.4 Ghz based technology automatically syncs a frequency with the helicopter, so pilots no longer have to worry about frequency interference with other helicopters. The decrease in latency and longer in range of 2.4 makes the Thunderbird the ultimate Micro helicopter. Multiple thunderbirds can be flown in the same room, and in calm weather, can be flown outside without any interference.

And right out of the box- the charger even said the battery was topped off- we put 6 cells into the transmitter (giggy-hertz type, awesome), and switched everything on without reading any directions (OK, I did actually look at the control diagrams first, and mentally practiced them for a minute or two).I chose my kitchen floor as a takeoff point, even though the cabinet faces cause ground effect nightmares. Real World conditions.Having flown 100's of small 3-channel copters, I knew a quick leap up to waist level would be better than finessing it up, so I went for it.Throttle stick to 50%.Wow, it had no tendency to ceiling-drill, just got lift. I was able to hold that lift quite readily with no excitement, so sidelong dodges. The shiny black Helizone Thunderbird just caught air and waited for me to want something else out of it. Incredible, what Modern Technology has achieved (and for such an amazingly low price). My Helizone Thunderbird was indeed flyable out of the package, and by a NOOB like me with very strongly 3-channel-trained thumbs. A huge reason for this ease of use, I think, is its stability and power, combined with a spooky-tight gyroscope keeping its nose pointed where you put it.I mean, it just does not rotate unless you steer it to a different heading. I had a 4-channel LAMA-type copter before, and even though it had "gyro", it had nothing like this has. This thing stays pointed, and makes you look good doing it.My wife said "Wow you have really gotten good with those." She didn't know it was an "advanced" copter, and I got a compliment, first-flight. :)In just few moments, I was zipping and cruising all over the house, setting down and lifting off here and there, at will. I did not crash once. This is what you imagine doing when you order a copter, and this is the first one I could ever actually do it with.Once I finally took some mercy and decided to rest this gorgeous helicopter, I got out my 3x - 15x optical loupes (I am a retired QA Inspector) and a big lamp, and poured over the copter's details while the battery was being re-charged (using the included wall charger). This thing is impressive in its detail and execution. I have seen the insides of literally million-dollar machines that were not assembled with the same care shown in this unit. I can barely handle these parts with tweezers: these amazing people have made reliable working avionics out of them (I actually had to keep reminding myself that I was indeed inspecting a TOY) somehow.I am VERY impressed with the fit, finish, and build quality in the Thunderbird. Helizone has really set the bar high for competitors in the "beginner" (really, any skilled flier would LOVE flying this responsive machine) 4-channel segment, I think.Helizone Thunderbird looks like a solid, long-lasting design with some very advanced features, many you would previously find at two or more times the cost. Which brings up a great point, you could own 3 of these Bad-Boys for the price of last year's common-copter, and that's a great thing, because I just saw the other colors this comes in.
