My 10yo son got this for christmas. We charged it and the green led does go off after about 20 min of charging, showing that it is done. The initial flying went poorly, since we thought you just set it on the ground and power up. It would fall over usually. But we found that if you hold it lightly and let it spin up, then let go, it flies straight up. Other good way is to just power up, and toss it in the air upright, and it will float right there. It is very stable to fly, the only problem is if it reaches the ceiling, it will want to stay sucked up there, until you power down alot. The slider control is easy to use, but may be a challenge for very young users. It has crashed many times, but the hinges blades allow alot of abuse over fixed blades. Overall I find it very durable. We had a $50 Radio Shack r/c copter, and it was always hard to control and was not very stable, even though it also had the twin blades. This may not be directional, but it is much more fun for my son to use. Very happy and would recommend for all ages.
