The SparkFun Inventor's Kit for Arduino is a box of goodies to get the very beginner started with programmable electronics. This kit was the best birthday present I have ever gotten. It has everything you need to start off and learn about the arduino. The "Instruction Booklet that it comes with is perfect for beginners. It tells you how to set up the Arduino Software on your computer and teaches you about all of the components it comes with and It also tells you how to program them. I got it with the book 30 Arduino Projects for the Evil Genius, but I wouldn't really reccomend this book for beginners. If you get this kit, you will have tons of fun with it and learn a lot. 100% worth the money!
