I bought a RTF RC jet online that came with the Li-Poly batteries and charger. The charger stopped working within 2 days, so I decided to purchase a good charger that would last. I purchased this one and have been pleased since. A few notes, it is smaller than you think. I was expecting something about the size of a book, but in reality, it is not much larger than the battery packs you are charging. Also, the output cord that it comes with has only the JST connector, if you need to charge any other type of battery (in my case, the Dean connector), you need to by the adapter cord for it. I ended up getting the octopus cord that includes the various types of chargers and it works perfectly. The charger itself works pretty easily. You click the buttons for the various current charge (amps) and voltage charge (cells) and press the start button. It goes through a series of checks on the batteries to ensure that they are correct. I had problems with my batteries because they had been discharged to too low a voltage. I got several error messages but with each successive mini charge (30 seconds- 1 minute), the voltage came back up and was able to charge the batteries back to full health. I charged a 4 cell, 2200 mAh battery in 1 hour and 15 minutes. When charging, the pack blinks a slow yellow light on the current readout, letting you know it is charging at a constant current that you selected. After about an hour, in my case, it switches to a slow blinking red light letting you know that it is charging at a constant voltage for about another 10-15 minutes. When you battery is done, a green light flashes and an audible tone sounds. I bought this kit that includes the AC adaptor, as I prefer to charge via AC voltage vs. hooking it up to a car or battery. I think this gives you more reliable current and voltage. Some of the things that I would have preferred on this product to get 5 stars: Maybe a little beefier construction, no offense and I am sure that this is well constructed, but when I spend about $80 on something, I was hoping for something a little more substantial. Also, I would like for the octopus cord to be a standard part of the kit, even if it costs a few $ more. Overall, a good product that does what I was wanting to do. Highly recommend.
