no more waiting 8 hours for your trickle charger to run, this EZ-Peak really does make it easy. I'm using it with the stock 7-cell 3000mah NiMH Traxxas now provides on their Slash. Some sites caution against charging your batteries at higher Amps, so I was a little worried about using a 4A charger on the 3A battery. However, the charger switched to trickle-mode to avoid overcharging, so it makes charging a no-brainer. Also, because you're pumping 4A into a 3000mah, you're at full charge at around the 45 minute mark. The battery was just slightly warm to touch when the green light came on to indicate it's ready. So far so good and I'm glad I got this. two notes: 1) Don't charge your LiPo batteries with this, as the EZ-Peak does not have the electronics to measure safe charging of the more finicky LiPo 2) I've read other forum posts that says this is not for batteries for your 1:16 scale or smaller cars. Those tend to be in the 1500mah to 2000mah range and pumping 4A into them will wear out your battery quickly (or even cause them to fail catastrophically) For those, look for the 2A charger. Update 6/1/2011: I originally gave this product a solid 5 stars. However, I must now come back and revise my review down to a 0, if they had a 0. since they don't, it's a 1-star. After using the product off and on for 2 months (used to charge my battery 5 times at most) the unit refused to turn on. The light that's supposed to blink red is now dark. I contacted customer service and they said, since it's past 30 days, I have to pay $15 + $5 shipping + whatever shipping to ship the unit back to them in Texas, to get it looked at. That's $20+ to get them to look at a $40 item that was used for less than 2 months. To say I'm very very disappointed would be an understatement. If this is how they treat their customers, then I'd say steer clear of Traxxis. While the car and charger were great when it ran, if it breaks down for any reason, you're left high-and-dry. The reason for a 1-star? If the product doesn't work after 2 months, it's no better than a lump of coal. A product that doesn't work really doesn't deserve anything more, especially when their so-called 'lifetime' warranty is only good before the item is 'dead'.
