I have flown many R/C helis, acrobatics, micros, etc. for several years. Got this just for fun, and it is. Some cheap plastic but the frame is reasonably sturdy. Not meant to be an advanced acrobatic heli! I agree bigger, sturdier blades would be nice-I have cheaper helis that have a rubberized blade guard design which this lacks. As far as stable hovering, it's fine-a little tail heavy, add a little weight to the nose, the tail boom is a little too long. I can put this up a few feet in my tiny living room without much stick adjustment. Flying any heli requires practice, hard for a beginner even if you are flying a simple up-down, right-left forward-reverse like this one. Even a T-Rex will bust up if you hard land on the skids too often. As far as appearance come on, it's a toy, not a military drone! Put this baby up somewhere at night, and wait for the UFO sightings to come streaming in. lights up like a Christmas tree gone berserk! Will go up 100 feet, no problem, the throttle is touchy (as are most R/C helis). Can also carry a small digital camera without straining. I've taken this up over a dozen times, it's still in one piece. Spare parts can be found, just look elsewhere on the web for Sky King heli-I've found cheap blades, batteries (it's a li-po) and spare blade holders but not much else. I'd recommend something smaller if you are a beginner. I'd also learn to fabricate some of your own parts, if you're serious about flying helis this will be a necessary skill and part of the hobby. This can be repaired alot cheaper than a serious nitro or acrobatic 6-channel. No matter what you fly, you will need to repair/maintain it if you want to keep it.
