The 6-channel DX6i uses the same full-range DSM2™ technology found in the Spektrum DX7 and includes an impressive list of programming features for both airplanes and helicopters that are simple to access and use. It comes with the new AR6200 DSM2 6-channel receiver that is robust enough to use in large models yet compact enough to fit in many parkflyers. The DX6i is also compatible with all existing Spektrum aircraft receivers. This a superb beginner's radio with a sweet price point. I have had one for a couple of years. I use it pretty much every week with my smaller micro indoor RC models. The Spektrum is pretty easy to program. I also have a Futaba I use for my larger outdoor helicopters & gliders. It's a great radio but very expensive. I considered Futaba when getting into micro flyers, but a cost/benefit analysis led me to the Spektrum DX6. It has all of the programming capability needed for smaller models and is low priced. I have not had any issues with the Spektrum and am happy with it. If you are just getting to the hobby, I think that this is the radio to get. It has all of the functionality you need until you gain experience and are ready to move up into the intermediate range of models. It is also a great second radio for your micro flyers.
