1 48 ME 262 A-1A U5 Fighter

This is a Hobby Boss 1/48 scale assembly and painting required plastic model kit of the Messerschmitt Me262 Schwalbe ("Swallow"), a World War II era twin-engine jet fighter aircraft of the German Luftwaffe, and the first operational jet fighter of the world. Model kit features: Engraved panel lines and rivets, well detailed cockpit and central wheel bay, new tool nose bay interior parts with Mk.108 cannons (x6), separate bay doors, nacelles with full intake and exhaust details, separately molded rudder, interior stringer detail, aft radio equipment with separate access panel, Ruhrstahl X-4 missiles (x4), choice of 2 nose wheels, multi-part canopy and white metal nose gear well. Decals and color painting guide for the single Luftwaffe prototype: WNr 112355, 'V355' - includes instrument markings and stencil data. *ABOUT THE ME 262: Fitted with two Jumo 004 turbojet engine, the Me262 was capable of speeds exceeding 500mph, making the venerable German jet a nearly impossible target for Allied fighter-aircrafts of the era. Even with its amazing speed, the Me262 had negligible impact on the course of World War II due to its late introduction and the inability of the Germans to mass produce the aircraft. By the end of World War II, the Me262 of all variants claimed only 509 Allied aircrafts destroyed while losing more than 100 aircrafts during combat operations.
